Foo Fighters postpone Alberta shows

Dave Grohl has performed with a broken leg – but the show cannot go on without his voice.

Foo Fighters have postponed their date in Edmonton tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 4), and in Calgary on Sept. 6, due to their lead singer suffering “loss of voice” at their tour opener in Seattle last week. Grohl is “now on vocal rest,” according to a press release.

The Edmonton show has been rescheduled to Oct. 22 in Rogers Place; Calgary on Oct. 23 in the Saddledome. Previously held tickets will be good for the new dates, or refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Grohl of course joked about his illness in a tweet, “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono.”

Foo Fighters are on tour behind their latest album, Concrete and Gold. Last time through Edmonton, in 2015, Grohl had fallen off a stage in Sweden (just a stage he’s going through) and went ahead with the tour fronting the band from a specially-designed steampunk wheelchair. They called it the “Broken Leg Tour.”
