Twenty One Pilots adds Edmonton to Banditø Tøur

From Stressed Out to world domination in just three short years, Twenty One Pilots is finally getting to headline Edmonton’s new hockey arena.

The Ohio duo plays Rogers Place on May 15, 2019, one of several dates recently added to the second leg of a world tour behind their new album Trench, out Oct. 5. Tickets for the show go on sale Oct. 12, the pre-sale starts Oct. 9, and you can register at the band’s website until Oct. 7 to get first access to tickets.

They’re calling this The Banditø Tøur, which includes dates in Mexico. This band has made an impact all over the world.

With the radio hits paving the way to fame – like the aforementioned anxious kid anthem Stressed Out in 2015, along with songs like Ride, Heathens and the new single Jumpsuit – it’s a crazy act if you haven’t seen them. Tyler Joseph, on vocals, keyboards, etc., and drummer Josh Dun are the only musicians on stage. Up to now, no one seems to mind that most of the other instruments are tracked – but the most important parts are real. Joseph is an electrifying and eccentric frontman, who with his partner often pull off acrobatic tricks, like falling dead on his back at the end of the opening song, for instance. It was at the Jube and festival stages before – now it’s the big house, and it remains to be see how they’re going to raise the bar for the big production a room like this demands. It’s a good bet it’s going to be impressive.
