Michael Buble, not retiring, brings Love to Edmonton

All this business about Michael Buble quitting music turned out to be FAKE NEWS.

He says he was misquoted in The Daily Mail – kind of the Fox News of the UK. He recently quashed the rumour with a statement: “I’ll keep going until the news of my death comes out, which will probably be fake, too.”

It is true the singer took breaks to spend time with his family. His oldest son Noah is battling cancer. He and his wife just had a baby daughter in July.

Meanwhile, he’s been working hard behind the scenes. Out Nov. 16, Buble’s new album is called simply Love – and there’s going to be an 11-arena Canadian tour behind its release. The B.C. crooner will play Rogers Place on Monday, April 15. Tickets are $69-$189 and go on sale Monday, Nov. 19. Every full price ticket comes with a free physical or digital copy of the new album.

As the headline on the tour announcement reads – “DON’T BELIEVE THE RUMORS” – you can bet Buble is going to make hash of this at the show. His wit is as keen as his voice is smooth. In the beginning he was compared to a young Frank Sinatra.

Buble has since released nine records (10 when you count Love, a collection of romantic standards) that have sold more than 60 million copies around the world.
