Just when we’re rolling our eyes over the very idea of ‘90s nostalgia, muttering, “What’s next? A throwback to last week?” is the moment we realize, “whoa, the ‘90s was a long time ago.”
Twenty years, at least – plenty of time for the generation to tick over and start throwing together nostalgia package tours from the relatively recent past. In large buildings, to boot.
The “I Love the 90’s Tour” has been upsized for 2019, coming to Rogers Place on May 17. On stage will be the hard-working Vanilla Ice, along with Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray, plus Rob Base, All-4-One, Biz Markie, and Montell Jordan – giants of the ‘90s all. Tickets start at $45 and go on sale Friday.
And by the way, the poster has this event as “I Love the 90’s” when it should correctly read “the ‘90s” – ‘cuz an apostrophe is supposed to be used to replace missing letters or numbers. Grammar cops, take note.
