EXCLUSIVE: Hear Steve Newsome’s new single
one day before it goes to radio!
Yes, he’s an actual Alberta cowboy, living the life of Red Dead Redemption, minus the killing – but Stony Plain’s Steve Newsome has lately been busier with country music than wrangling cattle. The 44-year-old singer’s latest song is a slick country rocker called Try Somethin’ Different. Steve says: “We had about 30-some songs pitched to us through Canadian producer Bart McKay, and this one just spoke to me. I’ve been going through changes myself, transitioning to the country music industry from what I’ve done before, so I’m trying something different on so many levels.”
A tour is in the works, including a spot opening for Terri Clark at the River Cree on July 10. Try Somethin’ Different will officially be launched on Monday, Feb. 4 at 8:40 am on 88.1 FM “The One” in Stony Plain – which you can pick up in Edmonton if the wind’s blowin’ right.
