FRINGE 2019: Field Zoology 101 lecture riddled with penis jokes

Field Zoology 101
Stage 37 (Auditorium at Campus Saint-Jean)
Why has the world of science ignored the genius of zoologist and world adventurer Professor Bradley Q. Gooseberry? With his Tilly hat at a sober angle, his bony knees sticking out under his cargo shorts and his (suspicious) black mustache, he has set out on a one-man crusade to bring the exiting world of zoology to Fringe audiences.
This is serious stuff. The good Dr. Gooseberry never cracks a smile – and there haven’t been grand adventures like this since Marco Polo set out for the Far East. Thrills? Wait until you hear of his hair-raising encounter with a racoon. Or his unending search for dangerous-sexy animals such as the sinuous rock python (gentle-ladies: hands over your ears for this one), all delivered in his sonorous movie narration voice. How about the virility of a tiger? You can now share his potency by purchasing a lotion composed of ground-up tiger genitalia (only $39.95 on Amazon). Where else on the Fringe can you hear a startling dissertation on the amazing African Bull Elephant better known as the Dick-Faced Jungle Cow? Or the beauty secrets of “peaCOCKS”? His pronunciation.
And while he may not bring a slick National Geographic-type movie with him. he does use a projector and some home-made transparencies.
During the evening he will face the most dangerous of all animals – a voracious live audience in a daring improvisational Q&A – facing questions like “What kind of animal would you like to inseminate?” What bravery! And he ends it all with his world famous mating dance of the emu.
In real life, Professor Gooseberry is a Victoria voice actor and darn funny fellow named Shawn O’Hara. The show may be a bombastic John Cleese-like send up of a fatuous character but, despite the carefully-crafted tatty look of the thing, this faux-lecture is well scripted and O’Hara’s timing is superb.
