Cheech & Chong blow off Edmonton

Here we go again. Is it something we said? Something we didn’t buy enough of? Who knows – but yet another major Edmonton concert has been cancelled due to “an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”
No further explanation was forthcoming from the Cheech & Chong camp – whose Oct. 7 “O Cannabis” show at the Jubilee Auditorium has been completely blown off, with no make-up date scheduled. As per usual, ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase; for online tickets, customers will be fully refunded within five business days.
Area fans of the legendary comedy duo whose marijuana routines and films made them famous are expected to be very disappointed. This would’ve been Cheech & Chong’s first appearance in Edmonton since cannabis was legalized in Canada.
All the other Canadian dates will go ahead as scheduled: Toronto (Sept. 23), Kitchener (Sept. 26), London (Sept. 28), Thunder Bay (Sept. 29), Winnipeg (Oct. 1), Regina (Oct. 2), Calgary (Oct. 4), Victoria (Oct. 6), Penticton (Oct. 9), and Abbotsford (Oct. 10) – tickets still available for most shows.
